Couples Needed for Alzheimer’s Study

The Relationship Research Lab at the Department of Psychology at the University of Waterloo is seeking couples to participate in a research study that looks at different aspects of your relationship with your partner (e.g., your communication and your relationship satisfaction).

Eligibility:
• Couples who are married, or who have been living together as if married for at least 20 years.
• One partner must be over 65 years old with Alzheimer’s disease.
• Both partners speak English and read English at least at a grade 8 level.
• Both partners must be willing to participate.

Participation involves couples completing questionnaires in separate rooms, and having two videorecorded discussions with your partner about your relationship. The session takes approximately three hours. In appreciation for your time commitment, each couple will receive $100 after the lab session.

If you would like additional details about the study or are interested in participating, please call
The Relationship Research Lab at
519-888-4567, Ext. 38421

This study has been reviewed by, and received ethics clearance through, the Office of Research Ethics, University of Waterloo.
